There is an annual clinical currency required of Sydney HEMS consultants.
The steps are:
1. Theory training – videos available to watch on the VLE and on the iPads.
2. Practical orientation – with the help of a duty retrieval consultant (DRC) or Fergal McCourt. Pop-Up clinics are the best time to achieve compliance with the currency requirement.
3. Completion of the Balloon Pump Currency Multiple Choice Test on Air Maestro.
