VLE

The virtual learning environment (VLE) is used for online education and self-assessment in pre-hospital and retrieval medicine.

Incoming new physicians and paramedics are required to complete online classes and associated assignments prior to attending induction training at the start of the post.

Note: Anything on SydneyHEMS.com is Free Open Access Medical Education (FOAM). However the Sydney HEMS Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) contains service-specific information to assist training for prehospital & retrieval medicine teams in New South Wales, and is designed to be course preparation for face-to-face training. There is an administrative workload for NSW Ambulance staff associated with each VLE account. For these reasons, we are unable to offer access to individuals who are not undergoing HEMS training.
